Jet'n in Texas

I guess I have gotten carried away, because I am obsessive about Electric Jets. Yes, I have some prop driven planes, but the majority of the 20+ aircraft I have hanging in the living room, stuffed in to garage, stuck in a spare room downstairs and taking up space in the RV are Jets! Some foamy jets, some balsa jets, some composite jets, and most have retracts, they range in size from 64mm fan jobs like my Sapak Hawk, to a 110 mm Stumax fan, all the way to a 120mm XPS Dynamax powered AMD Hawk putting out 15 lbs of thrust,
Whats next? an A10 Warthog that I am working on...

  1. Red Leader Composites Tazor - thread moved

    I decided to get started on the main landing gear. First, I cut out the access area leaving an border area to attach the gear door panel (after I cut and set up the gear doors). I've decided to go the full gear door route as it is just too cool to pass up.

    Getting them set up will be a future task for the moment I ordered a sequencer and still need to order door ...

    I got a little bit more done today, I glued in the hatch catch's on the cockpit, and cut and filed the slots in the fuselage, I fitted the tab for the rear hatch that holds the rearward side in, and I also mounted the tab that holds the rear of the cockpit down too. So both the cockpit and the fan hatch are done, except the front center catch for the cockpit that connects into the slot ...

    02/06/2011 -- Haven't gotten to the beginning task of the build yet, but studying the instruction manual, looking at the parts provided and deciding among various. options.

  5. All Electric Fun Fly -- Kingsbury, Tx Oct. 2010 -- Tri City Flyers



    The Kingsbury Aerodrome is an amazing place. The Tri City Flyers have a great facility and along standing arrangement with the owner to use the large grass field, the huge shelter with a kitchen and ample parking space for events at a rural airport that is really a museum and home to a large number of antique aircraft and vehicles.
